Becoming a Great Writer
Learning how to write is more about understanding the rhythm of words than just stringing sentences together. You cannot be a great writer by simply conveying thoughts, you need to portray your feelings through your art, and the only way to do that is to connect your piece with your life experiences and emotions. A long time ago my relationship with writing was complicated at best. I viewed it as a necessary evil in my professional life — a skill that was required but never truly mastered. However, after embracing a set of principles and practices, my writing journey took a turn for the better. The following are the fruits of 15 years of dedicated writing practice, carefully refined and presented.
The Power of Daily Practice
My journey in honing my writing skills began with a simple yet transformative commitment: to write daily. Recognizing that writing, much like exercising a muscle, needed consistent practice, I set aside 30 minutes each day for this purpose. This routine wasn’t just about producing words on a page; it became a ritual akin to an athletes commitment to their craft.
